Yellow Ribbon Charm
The idea of the yellow ribbon has origins dating back to the 19th century practice of women wearing yellow ribbons in their hair to signify devotion to their spouse serving in the U.S. Cavalry. A popular marching song, "Round her Neck She Wears a Yeller Ribbon," referenced this practice back in 1917. In 1973, the song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree" was released and the yellow ribbon became a common way to remember an absent loved one. By the 1990's, the yellow ribbon had evolved to represent support of our U.S. military serving overseas, and that tradition continues today. This charm is a .925 sterling silver ribbon composed of 9 channel-set yellow crystals.
